On a global scale, several groups work tirelessly to promote renewables and NWAs to mitigate forecasted load demand and defer traditional transmission and distribution (T&D) load relief/capital expenditures.

In certain locations, utility core functions have significantly shifted or changed. Customers’ roles have changed as well, from passive energy consumers to power producers. We will cover these topics, some of which include solar power sources, fuel cells, microgrids as n-1 or n-1-1, as well as the pros and cons of innovative NWAs, and what happens when NWAs go wrong. We will also explore several external factors that affect NWAs, and the effects that NWAs themselves have on other parts of the energy industry.
